About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and efficient Claims Handler to manage incoming insurance claims from initial report to settlement. This role is crucial for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that claims are processed accurately and promptly. You will be the primary point of contact for policyholders, guiding them through the claims process and investigating the circumstances of their claims. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering fair and timely resolutions, contributing to a supportive team environment that prioritizes client satisfaction within the broader insurance operations of the company, with options for remote work based in or around Polokwane .
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and acknowledge new insurance claims promptly.
- Investigate claims by gathering relevant information, documentation, and evidence.
- Assess liability and coverage based on policy terms and conditions.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, and third parties throughout the claims process.
- Process payments for approved claims and manage claim files accurately.
- Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalated them for further investigation.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Claims Handler or in a similar role within the insurance industry .
- Understanding of various insurance policies and claims procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
