About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Geothermal Energy Engineer to join their innovative team in Mossel Bay . This role is central to the development and optimization of geothermal power generation projects. You will be involved in all phases, from resource assessment and exploration to plant design, construction, and operation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geological engineering or mechanical engineering with a focus on thermal systems and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. You will contribute to harnessing the Earth's natural heat for reliable and clean power generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological surveys and reservoir assessments for geothermal resource potential.
- Design and optimize geothermal power plant systems, including well drilling and fluid management.
- Develop operational procedures and ensure the safe and efficient running of plants.
- Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to maximize energy output.
- Collaborate with geologists, environmental scientists, and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols for geothermal operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geothermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Geology.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the geothermal energy sector or related thermal engineering fields.
- Experience with reservoir modeling and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
- Familiarity with drilling technologies and plant construction.
