About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer with a specialization in Industrial Automation to join their innovative team in Richards Bay . You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated automation solutions that enhance productivity and safety across various energy-related operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Configure and integrate industrial instrumentation, sensors, and actuators into automated processes.
- Develop and implement control strategies to optimize plant operations, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems hardware and software in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure the reliability and performance of automated systems.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs, logic, and configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages for PLCs (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text) and DCS platforms.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP) and communication protocols.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA software and system integration.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
