About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and organized Ground Operations Coordinator to manage and oversee all ground handling activities for flights operating into and out of Paarl. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe turnaround of aircraft, coordinating with various ground service providers, and maintaining efficient communication between the flight deck and ground crew. This role requires excellent logistical planning skills, a strong understanding of airport operations, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Your efforts are critical to maintaining flight schedules and ensuring passenger satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise all ground handling services, including baggage handling, cargo loading, aircraft marshalling, and passenger boarding/deplaning.
- Liaise effectively with flight crews, cabin crews, ramp agents, and other airport personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor flight schedules and operational requirements, making adjustments as needed to minimize delays.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies governing ground operations.
- Manage resources, equipment, and personnel to meet operational demands efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of ground operations activities and report any discrepancies or incidents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in airline ground operations, airport management, or a related logistics role.
- Strong understanding of aviation ground handling procedures and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate diverse teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.
- Familiarity with airport operations software and systems is a plus.
