Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily civil engineering construction activities on site.
- Interpret engineering drawings, construction plans, and technical specifications.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to approved schedules.
- Oversee site teams, subcontractors, and construction activities.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with project quality standards.
- Monitor materials, equipment, and labour requirements.
- Assist with site measurements, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational construction challenges.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and construction scheduling.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure construction activities meet engineering requirements.
- Attend site meetings and prepare technical progress reports.
- Support project completion, inspections, and handover processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a relevant civil engineering qualification.
- More than 4 years of proven experience as a Site Engineer or Civil Engineer within the civil engineering construction industry.
- Strong practical experience in civil infrastructure construction projects.
- Experience in earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete structures, or related civil works.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of construction methods, site supervision, and quality-control procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and project planning software is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage site activities and work under pressure.
- Willingness to work on construction sites in Richards Bay.
