The Junior Trainer will be conducting trainer led training to delegates in a classroom environment, utilising prescribed vendor-related content, to ensure successful completion and delivery of the curriculum. The above includes maintaining certifications in order to remain relevant. Liaising with the relevant Business Units when required and assisting Sales on subject matter related queries

  • Ensure that course material and images are collected in advance for sufficient preparation time
  • Preparation in advance for your allocated course to ensure an effective and professional delivery
  • Go through each lab prior to your course to ascertain the full functionality of each lab
  • Ensuring that each course is set correctly for the number of students attending the course
  • Set up classes when required
  • Make certain that each PC has a mouse and a keyboard and that there is a chair at each workspace
  • Ensure that course material and images are collected in advance for sufficient preparation time
  • Preparation in advance for your allocated course to ensure an effective and professional delivery
  • Go through each lab prior to your course to ascertain the full functionality of each lab
  • Ensuring that each course is set correctly for the number of students attending the course
  • Set up classes when required
  • Make certain that each PC has a mouse and a keyboard and that there is a chair at each workspace
  • Ensure that material for the course presentation, such as slides as well as any supplementary reading material if so required, is consistent with the curriculum being delivered
  • Familiarising yourself with the material and product being trained, anticipate possible questions, and prepare explanations in advance
  • Include as part of your introduction an explanation of the course being delivered, where mapped to a certification path or exam, where it fits into that path, and what courses would follow to achieve the said certification. This would refer to a standalone course alternatively, to a group of courses to achieve the said certification.
  • Upsell courses based on the company’s offering
  • Assist delegates by providing additional guidance during breaks and before class
  • Identify delegates who are lagging and provide alternative solutions to get them up to speed
  • Ensure that online evaluations are completed by delegates for every course presented
  • Meet benchmark score of 4.5, on delegate evaluation
  • Attend vendor-specific trade and computer workshops when assigned
  • Maintain certifications in line with your specific subject matter in order to remain relevant
  • Make certain that growth plan-specific deadlines are met
  • Keep abreast with technology updates
  • Communicate training-related challenges to the Training Manager as and when experienced
  • Be contactable via email and mobile at all times
  • Respond to all communication that is training-related in a timely manner
  • Feedback to the Training Manager on a regular basis regarding training-related tasks
  • Accompany Sales to client meetings to provide subject matter input when required
  • Provide input and feedback to Business Unit Managers when required
  • Make certain that all vendor-specific requirements are met for each course eg. Completion of Telkom post-evaluation document
  • Assist in structuring customized courses when required
  • Ensure that delegates complete the class register and submit it to the administration office daily 
  • Assist delegates with their registration and collection of courseware when needed
  • Make certain that each delegate receives an attendance certificate on completion of the course
  • Compile class tests and assessments when required
  • Deliver evening and offsite training when required
  • Maintain a neat and tidy classroom at all times
  • Ensure that the air conditioner, PC’s, and lights are switched off at the end of each day
  • Forward all administration related to claiming expenses by the 15th of the month
  • Complete all administration related to leave, course attendance, etc, in a timely manner
  • Deciding on the most suitable way of training a course
  • Liaising with the Training Manager regarding any challenges that affect the delegates or resources used in the studio that are being utilized for training
  • NQF Level 4 Relevant certification for training in a specialised IT Skillset
  • Hold vendor associated trainer certification in line with requirements of technology specialization i.e. Microsoft, Cisco
  • Minimum 5 years training experience in a corporate environment
  • 5 years’ experience in the IT industry
  • Highest certification on technology specialization as deemed by technology provider
