About the Role
Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm, is looking for a talented Cloud Security Engineer with expertise in both AWS and Azure environments. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security controls for our client's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and applications. Based in Pretoria, Gauteng , this position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and contribute significantly to our client's security strategy. As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, while collaborating closely with a dynamic and innovative team. We seek a proactive individual passionate about cloud security best practices and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions for AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) controls within cloud platforms.
- Configure and monitor security services such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, WAF, and IDS/IPS.
- Automate security tasks and processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Conduct security reviews of cloud architectures and deployments.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents within the cloud environment.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud adoption and operation.
- Stay updated on emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focused on cloud security.
- Proven experience securing AWS and Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, data protection, and container security.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) and IaC tools.
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response in cloud environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.
