About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join their installation and maintenance crew in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and video networks. You will work on-site at various locations, ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance of communication infrastructure. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient with telecommunication equipment, and committed to delivering high-quality service and resolving technical issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunication equipment such as routers, switches, modems, and PABX systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in voice and data networks, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Run and terminate cabling for voice and data systems, ensuring proper connections.
- Perform diagnostic tests on equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide technical support to clients and document all work performed.
Requirements
- Experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a related field.
- Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency with testing equipment for signal analysis and fault finding.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good understanding of network infrastructure and protocols.
