About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Early Years Educator to join their team specifically for their Aftercare Program in Soweto . This role focuses on providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children after regular school hours. You will facilitate a range of enriching activities, assist with homework, and ensure the overall well-being of the children. We are looking for a compassionate individual with a passion for childcare and the ability to create a positive and fun atmosphere for children transitioning from their school day in the Gauteng community.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children participating in the aftercare program.
- Plan and lead engaging age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, and reading sessions.
- Provide assistance and guidance to children with their homework assignments.
- Foster positive social interactions and provide emotional support to the children.
- Maintain clear and open communication with parents regarding their child's day and any pertinent information.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
- Good understanding of child safety and supervision practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and implement structured yet flexible aftercare activities.
