About the Role
Our client, a leading national e-commerce and logistics provider, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Delivery Operations Manager to lead their Randburg, Gauteng operations. This strategic role demands a leader capable of optimizing delivery networks, managing large teams, and driving operational excellence to meet increasing customer demands. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of delivery operations within the Randburg region, including fleet management, driver performance, and route optimization.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of operations supervisors and a large workforce of drivers and support staff.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery operations, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements across the fleet and operations.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors as necessary.
- Implement and oversee the adoption of new technologies and systems to improve operational workflows.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to drive team performance.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, including sales, customer service, and warehouse management, to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in delivery operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale logistics operations and diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of South African transportation laws and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive change and implement operational improvements.
- Experience with modern logistics technology and fleet management systems.
- Valid driver's license (Code 10/C1 preferred).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational management.
