We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Release Manager to oversee the software release lifecycle. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling the build and deployment process to ensure the integrity of the live environment. You will act as a bridge between development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of software updates, bug fixes, and new features while minimizing risk and system downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the end-to-end release process, including scheduling, communication, and execution of deployments across multiple environments.
- Lead release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews.
- Maintain the release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate risks and bottlenecks that may impact the release schedule.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment efficiency.
- Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for process improvement and documentation updates.
- Maintain clear communication channels with stakeholders regarding release status, changes, and deployment outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in release management or a related project management role within a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
- Proficiency in release management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional team expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or PMP (Project Management Professional).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
