Synopsis:
The Scrum Master will play a crucial role in facilitating the Scrum framework within our teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies and a passion for guiding teams towards achieving their highest potential. This role involves working closely with Product Owners, Development Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and meet our high standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings.
• Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog to ensure that it is properly prioritized and that upcoming sprints are well planned.
• Guide and coach the scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high-quality products.
• Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the blocker.
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
• Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
• Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
• Implement changes that increase the team's productivity.
• Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected teams and management.
• Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).
