About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to support their mining operations near Upington. This role involves operating various heavy machinery, such as excavators, loaders, and haul trucks, to facilitate mining activities, including material handling and site development. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with heavy machinery in demanding environments and a strong commitment to safety protocols. You will play a crucial role in the efficiency and success of our mining projects in the Northern Cape region, contributing to earthmoving and material transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and haul trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment before and after use.
- Follow all site safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents.
- Transport materials and earth as directed by site supervisors.
- Assist with the general upkeep and cleanliness of the work site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator , preferably in a mining or construction environment.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of heavy machinery.
- Valid driver's license; relevant operator certifications are essential.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a mining context.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
