About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to manage and oversee all drilling operations at their site near Polokwane . This critical role ensures that drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to plan, whether for exploration, production, or geotechnical purposes. You will lead a team of drillers and support staff, manage equipment, and ensure adherence to stringent safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on drilling experience and strong leadership capabilities to maintain high performance levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all drilling crews and activities on site, ensuring efficient operations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies during drilling operations.
- Monitor drilling progress, equipment performance, and resource utilization, implementing adjustments as needed.
- Manage the maintenance and repair schedules for drilling rigs and associated equipment.
- Train and mentor drilling personnel, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with geologists and engineers to ensure drilling targets and specifications are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor or in a similar senior drilling role.
- Extensive knowledge of various drilling techniques and equipment relevant to mining.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a mining environment.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot drilling problems and implement effective solutions.
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in drilling operations.
