Key Responsibilities:
  • Guided Safaris: Lead and conduct informative game drives and walking safaris, ensuring a memorable and safe experience for guests.
  • Wildlife Education: Provide in-depth knowledge about local wildlife, flora, and ecosystems, and share insights on conservation efforts.
  • Guest Interaction: Engage with guests to enhance their safari experience, address queries, and cater to their interests and needs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure the safety of guests and staff during all activities, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other field guides and lodge staff to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Conservation Efforts: Contribute to ongoing conservation and research initiatives within the reserve.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a field guide in a luxury or high-end safari environment.
  • Qualifications: FGASA (Field Guides Association of Southern Africa) qualifications or equivalent, including relevant certifications in first aid and rifle handling.
  • Skills: Strong guiding skills with excellent knowledge of wildlife, flora, and ecosystems; exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attributes: Passionate about wildlife and conservation, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
