About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Research Associate to contribute to their Pharmaceutical Development efforts in Mahikeng . This role is crucial in supporting the formulation, characterization, and stability testing of new drug candidates. You will work closely with senior scientists to execute experimental plans, analyze data, and contribute to the overall advancement of drug product development. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, a solid understanding of pharmaceutical sciences, and a commitment to scientific rigor and quality, playing a vital role in bringing life-saving medicines to patients within a dynamic research and development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation development of small molecule and biologic drug products.
  • Perform pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing.
  • Conduct analytical testing of drug substances and drug products using techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
  • Prepare samples for stability studies and monitor product degradation over time.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately in laboratory notebooks and reports.
  • Support the transfer of analytical methods to quality control or manufacturing departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, formulation development, or analytical testing.
  • Hands-on experience with common laboratory equipment and techniques relevant to pharmaceutical development.
  • Familiarity with GMP guidelines and quality control principles.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting scientific findings.
