The Structural Engineering Lead is responsible for providing technical project planning, management, and oversight for key initiatives and project implementation. The lead ensures that these projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while applying all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) that enables the business to retain its ISO 9001 accreditation. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project in the Structural Engineering division.Project management including all project resources (including partners/subcontractors/specialist services), project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope management, internal and external communication, and status reporting. This position reports directly to the CEO and be based in their Pretoria office.Duties and responsibilities: Lead and manage building projectsBudgeting, resource allocation, procedures, profitability, quality, and standardsDevelop and communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project teamwork to ensure successful completion of projectsUndertake Client liaison and communication with all stakeholders of the individual projectsPreparation of project plans, conducting project health checks, and overseeing the implementation of recovery plans where necessaryTechnical coordination within the business and with external team members and/or stakeholdersAssisting the Business Development team and the relevant Executive in identifying opportunities for tendering, preparation of requests for proposals, and full tender proposalsOversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budgetGenerate relevant reports for projects as required by the businessNew business developmentConduct & attend meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.Desired Experience & QualificationBSc / B.Eng / B-Tech Degree10-15 years’ post-qualification experience in the built environment and at least 5 ears in a Technical Lead roleRegistered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/ TechnologistProven track record as Project/Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projectsProject Management experience to manage medium to high-rise office, residential, educational, healthcare, commercial and industrial buildings and water-retaining structuresExperience in contract administration & management of multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projects Key Knowledge Areas and CompetenciesStrong leadership and technical experienceInterpersonal Communication SkillsClear and concise written and oral communication skills.Problem-Solving Critical thinkingAnalytical Strategic Tactical & Operational skillsPlease ONLY respond if you meet the minimum requirements of BSc /BEng/15 years + Structural Engineering/ PR Eng.
