About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Civil Project Manager to lead key infrastructure projects from their office in Bloemfontein . This critical role involves the overall planning, execution, and closing of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will be responsible for coordinating teams, managing resources, mitigating risks, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. This position offers a significant opportunity to shape important developments in the Free State province and to advance your career in project leadership within a reputable engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of civil engineering projects, from initiation and planning through execution and completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, site supervisors, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and successes effectively to clients, senior management, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; PMP certification is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in managing civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and contract administration .
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and make critical decisions under pressure.
