Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Completed Trade Test as Fitter & Turner
  • Experienced in hydraulics, pneumatics, steam installations, and heat exchangers
  • Welding experience stainless steel, mild steel & alloy steel
  • Experience in transmissions, drive gearboxes, plate work, boiler making, and working with lathes/milling machines
  • Be prepared to work overtime and shifts if and when required.
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • To ensure that the routine preventative maintenance is carried out.
  • To fill in reports on call outs, breakdown orders, workshop orders and safety orders.
  • To carry out development projects, modifications, additions and alterations to existing plant and machinery.
  • To carry out the safety programme to the S.E.I.F.S.A. Systems.
  • To adhere to the sections of law applicable to the Department and the Regulations according to the O.H.S. Act.
  • To carry out annual shutdown maintenance functions to plant and machinery according to the scheduled programme.
  • To do lubrication and hyster driving.
  • To carry out steam installations, heat exchanges etc.
  • To do welding of mild steel and flame cutting.
  • To perform repairs on pneumatic systems.
  • To repair transmissions and drive gearboxes.
  • Fitting and replacing of belt clipjoints and replacing belts.
  • Ability to change all blades on production lines.
  • To carry out all hydraulic and pneumatics repairs.
  • Boiler and plant start ups.
  • Die tool assemble and overhaul.
  • To manufacture or repair machine parts and spares on the lathe and milling machines.
  • Adhere to and comply to ISO standards
Salary: R22 000.00 R26 000.00 per month (basic)
