About the Role Our client is seeking a seasoned and dependable Intercity Transport Driver to operate within the Upington, Northern Cape region and beyond. You will be responsible for the long-distance transport of goods, ensuring they reach their destinations safely and on schedule. This role requires a professional driver with excellent road safety awareness, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage extensive driving hours. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles for long-haul transportation of goods across various routes.
- Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo as per company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and driving hour limits.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Requirements
- Valid Code 14's driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience driving heavy vehicles or long-haul trucks.
- Proven ability to navigate long distances and diverse road conditions.
- Good physical condition and the ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
