Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a relevant agricultural qualification
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience as a Spray Operator or in a similar role within the agricultural industry is essential
  • Familiarity with foliar application techniques, pesticide safety, and equipment calibration is advantageous
  • Must have knowledge of occupational safety standards and pesticide regulations
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or flexible hours during peak seasons
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good IT literacy, especially with GPS and telemetry systems used in spraying
  • Must have a valid drivers license (tractor experience advantageous)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Operating and maintaining tractor-mounted spray equipment for foliar application.
  • Calibrating sprayers and mixing chemicals according to application guidelines.
  • Ensuring accurate and even application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides.
  • Conducting pre- and post-application equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Following all health, safety, and environmental protocols, ensuring compliance with agricultural regulations.
  • Maintaining detailed records of spray operations, including weather conditions, application rates, and chemicals used.
  • Coordinating with the farm manager to plan spraying schedules and meet crop care requirements.
