Grind Operator

Grind Operator – Industrial Blades – East Rand
Minimum requirements:

•Matric or equivalent

•Artisan qualification highly advantageous

•Minimum 3 – 5 years' Grinding Machine Operator experience

•Reside on the East Rand

•Ability to travel to and from work on own accord
Job Purpose:

•Set up Grinding Machines according to specifications.

•Select the appropriate grinding segments or wheel.

•Adjust machine settings.

•Ensure Blade is securely positioned.

•Adjust Feed Rates, grinding speeds and other settings to match the material being processed.

•Operate surface grinding machines to grind steel for the manufacture of industrial blades.

•Inspect Blades during the grinding process for any defects or dimensional issues.

•Accurate measuring of Jobs, using tools such as micrometres, verniers, and gauges to measure accuracy.

•Ensure the finished blades meet the required tolerances.

•Cleaning, lubrication and replacement of worn-out parts like grinding wheels.

•Follow instructions on Job cards and Complete where necessary

•Load Raw material onto the machines and remove finished Blades.

•Identify specific materials for processing as different materials may require different grinding techniques or tools.

•Operator must choose the correct grinding tools (wheels, belts etc.) based on the Job Requirement.

•Maintain or sharpen tools used in the grinding process.

•Oversee and ensure that the Production assistants are attending to their duties.

•Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety Procedures
