Diesel Mechanic

Qualifications & Requirements:Recognised Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (essential)Air Conditioning repair experience preferredMinimum of 5 years' working experience with earthmoving machinery such as ADTs, excavators, dozers, TLBs, FELs, Grader and rollers (Current machinery on-site: Bell, CAT 950H, CAT 140K, Hyundai, HAMM Roller)Valid South African IDValid Driver's Licence (EB/08)Must reside within the Area of Interest proof of residence requiredPhysically fit and capable of performing work in all weather conditionsOwn tools of trade requiredAbility to follow instructions and work effectively within a teamKey Responsibilities:Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on equipment and machinery according to sound engineering practices and equipmentConduct preventative maintenance work and scheduled inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Regulations, as well as company and manufacturer standards.Report all defects, breakdowns, and irregularities on equipment and machinery to the Project Manager.Develop, modify, construct, and install related equipment as required to ensure the safe operation of machinery.Identify and order spare parts in line with departmental procedures.Maintain accurate inventory of parts and consumables for field operations.Communicate with supervisors regarding maintenance activities and equipment Create and maintain job cards and provide feedback on work performed by the workshop.Work overtime, standby , and attend call-outs as required.
