An opportunity for an experienced COSTING CLERK is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.

In order to be considered for this vacancy you will be required to meet the following duties and responsibilities with the required experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Development Studies:
    • Validating data compiled throughout Sample production procedure and registering products for production once approved, while continuously evaluating historic cost vs sales pricing on relevant production sets for relevant customer profiles.
  • Cost Accounting:
    • General internal audit on actual cost of a product over different production sets in factory. Continuously testing rise per size data, sales pricing and MU and GPs of customer accounts.
  • Reporting:
    • Continuous data evaluations and report compilation for use by different depts and management. Ie. Inter-Departmental reports, Monthly Production Reporting, Report generation for general use with regards to Special pricing for customers, Evaluation of MU & GPs by Customer profiles, Costing, Sample Reporting, Cutting etc.
  • Stock Take:
    • Doing spot checks after stock take of Raw material, Work in Process and Finished Goods.
  • ERP:
    • Maintaining the ERP in terms of Bill of Material items. Removing old trim codes no longer stocked or utilised in products and replacing with newest trim codes, re-costing the product, evaluating and reporting change in cost of sales.

Also responsible for:

  • Testing and implementing internal software changes relating to production, training on these inter-departmental reports and follow up on procedural implementation and efficiency tests after implementation.
  • Constant communication with Sales representatives, internal departments & production sets regarding alterations and initiating requested alterations with relevant departments.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Minimum Gr 12 (Matric Pass) With Accounting and Pure Maths (Not Math Literacy) (Non-negotiable)
  • Min 3-5 years experience in a Costing Clerk role (required)
  • Fluent in English & Afrikaans
  • Computer literacy with very good knowledge of Excel
  • Well-spoken / communication
  • Must perform well under pressure
  • Must be able to meet dead lines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Own transport to the industrial area
  • This position is based in Newcastle, therefore local residency required.
