Requirements:

Relevant Diploma / Degree

20 - 30 years experience working in the mining industry

Experience in Full Operations of Mining

The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive skill set that enables them to oversee all aspects of mining operations, from initial assessment to operational excellence.

. Mineral Assessment: Conducting meticulous evaluations to determine the mineral-rich potential and economic viability of prospective mining sites, employing rigorous analysis to assess their investment prospects.

2. Mining and Processing Methodology: Proficiently selecting and implementing optimal mining and mineral processing methods, taking into account factors such as environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, and safety standards.

3. Mine Design and Scheduling: Demonstrating expertise in developing sophisticated mine designs and schedules that optimize resource extraction, while ensuring operational efficiency and full compliance with regulatory requirements.

4. Financial Modelling and Costing: Applying advanced financial models and cost analysis techniques to assess the economic feasibility of mining projects, scrutinizing investment returns, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.

5. Equipment Selection: Exercising discernment and astuteness in selecting the most suitable mining equipment, considering site conditions, production requirements, and cost-effectiveness.

6. Project Studies: Conducting comprehensive project studies, encompassing feasibility assessments, environmental impact evaluations, and risk analyses, to provide invaluable insights and recommendations for informed decision-making.

7. Mine Construction and Operation: Overseeing the seamless execution of mine construction and operational activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and production targets.

8. Technical Consulting and Advisory Services: Offering expert consultation and advisory services on exploration, mining technical services, and mineral processing, proffering strategic guidance and innovative solutions to optimize mining operations.

9. Deal Making and Investment: Demonstrating acumen in facilitating negotiations and investment activities pertaining to mineral assets and mines, identifying viable partnerships, acquisitions, and investment opportunities to bolster business growth.

It is essential that the chosen candidate possesses a global outlook and is willing and able to travel extensively, particularly within other African countries. Given our substantial presence and ongoing operations throughout the continent, this attribute will be critical for success in this role.
