About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Nanny & Early Learning Facilitator for their family in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This role requires a proactive individual passionate about both providing excellent childcare and actively contributing to the educational development of young children. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the majority of the time spent caring for the children in their home in Nelspruit, but occasional participation in virtual team meetings or professional development sessions may be required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, creative approaches to learning, and a nurturing disposition. You will be responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and enriching environment that encourages curiosity and supports the holistic growth of the children. We are looking for someone who can blend nurturing care with structured learning activities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and responsible childcare, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, games, and crafts that foster cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, nap times, and hygiene.
- Create a stimulating and fun learning environment within the home.
- Read stories, engage in conversation, and encourage language development.
- Accompany children on age-appropriate outings and activities.
- Manage children's schedules and coordinate with parents regarding daily activities and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing regular updates on the children's development and well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in children's areas.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting good behavior and values.
- Participate in occasional virtual team meetings or training sessions as required for the hybrid aspect of the role.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in childcare or as a Nanny, with demonstrable experience in early learning facilitation.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and learning methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative, energetic, and patient personality with a genuine love for children.
- First Aid and CPR certification is essential.
- Ability to plan and lead engaging educational activities.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Familiarity with virtual communication tools is a plus due to the hybrid nature of the role.
- Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa .
- Excellent references from previous childcare positions.
