We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical operations and maintenance for our mining project in Carletonville. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of electricians and ensuring all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently in accordance with mining regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of electricians and electrical artisans
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with South African mining regulations and electrical safety standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of electrical infrastructure and equipment
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Review and approve electrical work permits
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize production downtime
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work, inspections, and incidents
  • Develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives
  • Manage inventory of electrical parts and equipment
  • Provide technical guidance and training to electrical team members

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass medical examination as per mining regulations
  • Valid Wireman's License or recognized electrical engineering qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in mining electrical supervision
  • Strong knowledge of South African mining regulations and electrical codes
  • Experience with mining electrical systems including:
    • Medium/low voltage distribution systems
    • Motor control centers
    • PLC systems
    • Underground electrical reticulation
  • Valid driver's license
