About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Geologist Specialist to join their dynamic exploration team. This position is crucial for identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects, primarily focusing on the rich geological formations within South Africa . You will work independently, leveraging advanced geological software and data analysis techniques to provide critical insights that guide exploration strategy. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, while collaborating closely with on-site teams and management through digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in mineral exploration and a deep understanding of geological modeling and resource estimation, contributing significantly to the company's growth and discovery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed geological mapping and data analysis using GIS and specialized software.
- Interpret geophysical and geochemical data to identify potential areas of interest for mineral exploration.
- Prepare comprehensive geological reports, including resource and reserve estimations, for internal review and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate remotely with geophysicists, geochemists, and engineers to develop integrated exploration models.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geological sciences and exploration technologies, applying them to current projects.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of exploration budgets and work plans.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on base metals or precious metals.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and ore deposit environments.
- Experience with data management, statistical analysis, and reporting in a remote setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex geological information clearly.
