I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced PET Processor for a manufacturing company based in Isando, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment is in optimal operating condition, performing fault analysis in case of malfunctions or rejects, and ensuring the correct setting of machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, report, and rectify technical issues with assigned production equipment.

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of product quality criteria, processes (material feeding, drying, injection moulding, reheat stretch blow moulding, and injection blow moulding), and detailed knowledge of all equipment.

  • Independently conduct fault analysis and problem-solving for product quality, processing issues, mould issues, and machine malfunctions.

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and checklists.

  • Ensure maintenance is performed at required intervals.

  • Identify and manage spare parts needed for assigned equipment.

  • Independently develop machine settings and ensure machines are correctly set for each run.

  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager and Production Manager to ensure machine availability and maintenance intervals.

  • Log jobs were performed, and the defect register was analyzed to improve production results.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and maintain housekeeping standards.

  • Apply quality principles and standards, and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Adhere to food safety principles and report any food safety hazards or issues.

  • Keep abreast of industry innovations and technical improvements for personal and company development.

  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Secondary Education: Grade 12

  • Tertiary Education: Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience: 5 years relevant setting experience

  • Sound understanding of drawings and fundamentals of fault finding and equipment testing

  • Knowledge of H&S and safe working procedures

  • Installation of parts & related equipment

  • Fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to act decisively and urgently

  • High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
