Our client in the Industrial Consumables space is urgently looking to employ a External Sales Representative at their organizationLocation: Sebenza, EdenvaleJob DescriptionThe External Sales Representative will drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with customers in key industries (manufacturing, mining, construction, engineering, electrical contracting). The role requires a proactive and consultative sales approach, understanding the company's technical product range, and delivering tailored value propositions to different industrial clients.Requirements:Minimum of 35 years of external sales experience in industrial consumables or related industryExperience with safety / PPE sales is a plusProven B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial supplies, safety equipment, electrical, construction, or similar sectors.Technical aptitude: ability to understand and sell complex product lines (tools, cables, PPE, abrasives).Valid drivers license and willingness to travel across territoryResponsibilities:Develop and execute a territory sales plan aligned with the company's objectives.Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities.Grow existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and relationship management.Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers (procurement, maintenance managers, safety officers, engineers).Conduct regular on-site visits to customer facilities.Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries, quotations, and after-sales follow-uDevelop deep knowledge of Fastells product portfolio: PPE (e.g., Dromex gloves, coveralls), hand tools (Gedore, Groz, Kendo), power tools (HiKoki, Metabo, Bosch, DeWalt), electrical consumables (cable, circuit breakers, ties), abrasives (Pferd, Lukas).Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, bids, and quotations.Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast in the CRM.Report on sales metrics, customer feedback, and market trends.Research and monitor industry trends in manufacturing, mining, construction, and contracting.Map out the competitive landscape and identify differentiation opportunities.Provide input to product management for improvements or new product ideas.Collaborate with marketing to support sales campaigns, product launches, and promotional activities.Liaise with warehouse, logistics, and operations to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.Work with the finance department to manage pricing, credit terms, and customer billing.
