The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of building services projects, working closely with other engineering disciplines to develop innovative, compliant, and cost-effective mechanical systems. A strong technical foundation, combined with the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple project stages, is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systemsConduct site visits and client needs analysesPrepare technical reports on maintenance, repairs, and existing system assessmentsPerform heat load calculations and system concept proposalsSpecify mechanical systems in accordance with project requirementsEnsure compliance with local and international codes and standardsLiaise with OEMs and suppliers for sourcing and system integrationDevelop ducting layouts and equipment selectionsSupport Fire Protection and Detection system designsAssist in compiling Rational Fire Design documentationContribute to wet services designs, including water system hydraulic calculationsReview and coordinate engineering drawings with drafting teamsDraft engineering reports throughout project phasesCompile tender documents, technical specifications, BOQs, and budget estimatesConduct peer reviews in line with ISO 9001 quality standardsParticipate in construction monitoring and on-site supervisionOversee elements of design and project delivery within budget and timelinesCommunicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and with clientsMaintain documentation as per internal quality management protocolsAttend project meetings and conduct site inspectionsHandle administrative tasks related to project and team functionsWork independently on mechanical design aspects across various projectsRequirementsExperience:3 to 5 years in mechanical engineering within a consulting or construction environmentQualifications:BEng or BSc in Mechanical EngineeringSkills & Competencies:Valid Code B drivers licenseProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or RevitStrong verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAbout the FirmThis Pretoria-based consultancy is part of a broader group offering fully integrated services across the built environment.
