Minimum Requirements
  • Matric
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a draughtsman.
  • Previous experience working within a mining environment.
  • Proven experience with conveyors and structural designs.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Inventor.
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Drawing and Design:
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor software.
  • Develop plans and layouts for mining conveyors and structural components.
  • Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and issues.
  • Provide technical support during the fabrication and installation phases.
Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Maintain a library of standard designs and templates for reuse in future projects.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documentation.
  • Prepare detailed bills of materials and specifications for procurement.
  • Provide regular reports on design progress to the engineering manager.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure designs incorporate safety standards and practices.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections as required.
