Joining their team means contributing to a business where technical excellence directly supports efficiency and product integrity.The Role: Refrigeration TechnicianAs a Refrigeration Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising an ammonia refrigeration plant, ensuring reliability and efficiency across operations. You will respond to operational requests from logistics, troubleshoot issues, and uphold safety protocols. The role requires independence during shifts and the ability to step up in the absence of the Senior Refrigeration Technician.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and optimise ammonia refrigeration systems to ensure continuous operationTroubleshoot and repair refrigeration plant components with minimal downtimeRespond to operational requests from logistics and other departmentsUphold strict safety protocols, procedures, and compliance standardsWork independently during shifts and provide cover during absences in the refrigeration teamPerform inspections, record-keeping, and reporting on plant performanceSupport operational continuity through overtime and standby responsibilitiesAbout YouMinimum 5 years of experience in refrigeration, with strong mechanical knowledge of plant componentsMatric qualification with basic computer literacyThorough knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systemsAmmonia competency certificate (SAQCC GAS Cat. B)Ammonia refrigeration diploma (e.g., OTTC)First aid and safety training, with proven commitment to safe work practicesPhysically fit and able to work at heightsWillingness to work overtime and participate in standby rotations
