SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEERING ESTIMATOR PERMANENT POSITION: HEAD OFFICE, WESTERN CAPE Job Summary: The Senior Civil Engineering Estimator plays a critical role in tendering, contract negotiations and client relationships. This individual fulfils a senior position within the Company and reports directly to the MD and Directors of the Company.Duties/Responsibilities: Tendering: Identifying and evaluating suitable tenders for the Company, taking into consideration Company resources and profitability marginsCompiling cost estimates using input date from the Tender AssistantsIdentifying all potential cost hazards and risks and communicating these ahead of tender submissionsPreparing work plans for tendersPresenting complete tender cost estimates to the Managing Director for signoffSubmitting tenders to ClientsEnsuring the Company tenders competitivelyChair regular tender adjudication meetingsContract Negotiations: Conduct meetings with prospective clientsManage post-tender negotiations and appointments with ClientsDetermining tender cost parameters and communicating this to Site Management and QS Teams to ensure projects remain on budgetEducation and Experience: PR Tech (Civil or QS) or B.Eng (Civil or QS)At least 12 – 15 years’ experience within an estimating position in a civil engineering construction environment Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent English verbal and written communication skillsExcellent analytical, numerical, planning and negotiation skillsContract knowledge of GCC, JBCC, NEC and FIDI contract suitesExperience working with CANDY/CSSExcellent MS Excel SkillsValid Drivers Licence and prepared to travel as and when required.Salary: Highly negotiable based on experience
