We are seeking a skilled Catering Technician to join the hotels engineering and maintenance team. The successful candidate will maintain, repair, and service all catering and kitchen equipment throughout the hotel, ensuring all appliances operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.Critical Criteria (Requirements)Technical or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Catering Equipment MaintenanceProven experience maintaining commercial kitchen and catering equipmentKnowledge of cooking appliances, refrigeration, and dishwashing systemsMinimum 24 years experience as a Catering Technician or in a similar role, preferably in hotels or commercial kitchensStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasksTeam player with strong communication and interpersonal skillsMust hold a valid South African IDKey Competenciesð¹ Technical Expertise Skilled in preventative and corrective maintenance of catering and kitchen equipmentð¹ Quality & Standards Focus Ensures all equipment functions safely, efficiently, and reliablyð¹ Health & Safety Compliance Adheres to occupational health, safety, and food hygiene regulations; uses PPE correctlyð¹ Problem Solving & Troubleshooting Quickly identifies faults and resolves issues to maintain kitchen operationsð¹ Team Collaboration Works effectively with engineering, maintenance, and kitchen teams to support smooth operationsDuties & ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on catering equipment, including ovens, hobs, fryers, dishwashers, and refrigeration unitsDiagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure operational continuityInstall and commission new kitchen appliancesEnsure all equipment functions at optimal performance levels and meets safety and hygiene standardsMaintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service schedulesFollow all health, safety, and PPE requirementsCollaborate with the engineering, maintenance, and kitchen teams to respond to emergency breakdownsLive and promote the companys values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and IntegrityPackage on OfferBasic salary (TBA)50/50 contribution to PensionCompany contribution to medical aidImportant Application NotesMust hold a valid South African IDOnly candidates with relevant Catering Technician experience will be shortlistedEnsure your CV is 100% updatedAll applicants will attend a virtual introduction interviewRecruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan
