Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost control, or project controls, ideally within the industrial or petrochemical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of cost management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Primavera, CostX) and proficiency with Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
  • Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

Beneficial requirements:
  • Familiarity with industry-standard cost estimating methodologies and best practices.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze complex technical data, contracts, and project documentation.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring that project costs remain within approved budgets.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project stages, from initial conceptual design through to final construction and commissioning.
  • Work closely with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to forecast costs accurately and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Perform regular cost variance analyses, reporting any deviations from the budget, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Track project expenditures and resource allocations, ensuring all financial transactions align with project scope and budget.
