POSITION: Earthmoving Workshop ManagerBUSINESS UNIT: MiningJOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Managing and overseeing the effective repair and maintenance of all earthmoving equipment. Ensure to achieve, or exceed, equipment availability of at least 85% for all equipment on site.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):Plant (Earthmoving Equipment) PerformanceScheduling of services and ensure all the paper work is in order.Co-ordinate the inspection lists and delegate daily duties to the Plant Foreman.Co-ordinate the daily duties of the service supervisors.Monitor equipment availabilities on a daily basis.Follow up on breakdowns as a matter of urgency.Maintain an 85% fleet availability.Minimise all fleet downtime and treat with sense of urgency. Job planning on a daily basis.Plant Administration FunctionStores and Stock ControlPlant HR functionTotal quality of maintenance functionEnsure compliance to Safety & Quality policies, procedures and standardsACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Trade qualification Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic and/or National Diploma/Degree Mechanical Engineering(Strong advantage)No criminal recordValid Driver's licenseEXPERIENCE:At least five years' experience in a Workshop Manager position (Sect 13 Artisan) or alternatively 3-5 years' in a similar level role (N. Dip/Degree:Mechanical Engineering)At least two years technical service experience.Major rebuild of heavy earthmoving equipment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Mechanical AptitudeTechnical AptitudeFinancial & Reporting SkillsPhysical AptitudePeople Management SkillsBEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:Approach work strategicallyDrive financial optimisation and efficiencyEffective resource managementEmpower and motivate others effectivelyEstablish interpersonal tolerance and teamwork practicesIncorporate new approaches in key change initiativesProduce effective business resultsShow initiative and make things happen
