Purpose of the Role

  • Responsible for all categories from Source to Contract and Procure to Pay perspective.
  • Provide oversight and management of the category management, including category strategy development and implementation, strategic sourcing, operational sourcing and contract management for strategic and critical business requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Governance, Compliance & People Management:
    • Adhere to and enforce Procurement strategy, policy and procedures, and drive a culture of Governance and compliance across the Team
    • Submit monthly reports and annual audits to ensure compliance with the procurement function standards
    • Lead, mentor, and guide team members to ensure clear direction and career growth including learning and development.
    • Ensure team members have the resources and support required.
  • Category Strategy:
    • Accountable for the development and execution of the overall category strategy.
    • Oversees and guides category manager on the development of respective category strategies for sourcing and procuring materials and services, supply chain and logistics
    • Provide support to category managers on negotiation strategies.
    • Lead high-value or high stake supplier negotiations
    • Perform risk analysis, and develop mitigation plans and solutions to problems.
  • Cost Management:
    • Develop the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) strategy in collaboration with business stakeholders, and work with category managers to execute this across the Group
    • Performs total cost of ownership evaluations, monitor product pricing and impact analysis for the pursuit of continuous cost improvements.
    • Work with category specialists to execute this strategy and continuously seek out cost savings opportunities
  • Procure to Pay:
    • Oversee the procure to pay and source to contract processes and ensure availability of materials and maintained stock levels.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Oversee the execution of the supplier strategy (including localisation initiatives)
    • Oversee the management of supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance
    • Engage with Procurement Executive for in-country supplier relationship management requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in Commerce
  • Minimum 8 years of procurement experience
  • Detailed knowledge of category management
  • Advanced negotiating skills
  • Legal contracting skills
  • Understanding of NEC contract mechanism
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Able to build and maintain relationships at supplier level
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Sound judgement
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
