The successful candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical components and systems. This role may transition into a permanent position based on performance and operational needs. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform fitting, turning, and machining tasks to specificationAssemble and install mechanical components and systemsConduct fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenanceOperate lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipmentRead and interpret technical drawings and job cardsEnsure compliance with safety and quality standardsComplete job reports and communicate effectively with supervisors Minimum RequirementsRecognized Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and TurnerMinimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in a production or maintenance environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skillsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsOwn transport or reliable commute to RoodepoortAvailable to start immediately Key CompetenciesAttention to detail and accuracyStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilityAbility to work independently and in a teamCommitment to safety and qualityGood communication and time management skills Working ConditionsWorkshop and plant-based environmentMay involve shift work or overtime depending on operational needsPhysically demanding; requires manual handling and standing for extended periods
