MILLWRIGHT (Grabouw)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Apprenticeship as Millwright
• Minimum, electrical and mechanical trade test and or millwright trade test
• NQF Level 5 N6
• 5 years relevant experience
• Broad mechanical and electrical experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine maintenance.

• React to reports, queries or doubts expressed by Production personnel or maintenance personnel.
• Check mechanical and electrical equipment visually while passing through the factory.
• Do maintenance on electrical, mechanical and basic electronic equipment according to the planned maintenance program on a fixed schedule.
• Assist in maintaining of SCADA system.

Handle breakdowns:

• Receive reports of breakdowns (electrical and mechanical) from customers
• Proceed to scene of breakdown and decide to work on it there or take it to the workshop, depending on character of work involved.

Repair breakdown including:

• Isolating the faulty price of equipment (if electrical)
• Detecting and diagnosing the fault by employing measuring instruments.
• Repair mechanical and electrical as per assessment.

Conduct new installations:

• Receive instructions from Maintenance/Production Manager/Instrument Technician concerning requirements for new installations.
• Plan installation accordingly.
• Install new electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Supervise contractors and other maintenance staff doing the installation of new systems.
• Assist in upgrading of SCADA system.
• Assist with training of Production staff on new equipment.
