Our client is one of the most prestigious wineries in the world, and they are looking for a Commis Chef to join their team in Cape Town - Stellenbosch. As a Commis Chef you will need to assist the Head Chef and other Senior Chefs.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Certificate/Diploma;
  • Preferably 1- 2 years previous experience as Commis Chef in 5-star restaurants;
  • Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends);

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting other chefs in the kitchen
  • Follow recipes and standards to ensure consistency in preparation of all food items
  • Assist with deliveries
  • Daily checks of mis-en-place to ensure quality and freshness standards are met
  • Product rotation
  • Menu knowledge
  • Overall cleanliness and maintenance standards are followed
  • Procedures and Standards in the kitchen are followed
  • Food safety and sanitation policies are followed
  • Professionalism
  • Attention to detail
  • Productivity and effiency
  • Ability to work under pressure
