Possible duties:
  • Oversee daily foundry operations, ensuring efficient production and high-quality output.
  • Manage melting processes, mold making, casting, and finishing activities.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the production team, driving performance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement process improvements and optimize production efficiency.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality standards.
  • Handle maintenance planning and troubleshooting of foundry equipment.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary education in Production, Engineering, or Quality (minimum NQF6 level).
  • A Qualified Artisan certification is advantageous, but the candidate must meet the NQF6 education requirement.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Foundry/Melting operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of foundry processes, quality control, and safety standards.
