Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a Masters degree in Agronomy\ Soil Science \ Plant Production
  • 3-5 years relevant Agronomy experience is required
  • Knowledge and experience of forage crops, maize, wheat and canola would be an advantage
  • Good communication and writing skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, are essential
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel extensively and spend time away from home

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Preparing and co-ordinating varietal screening trials in multiple crops, specialising in pastures.
  • Handling complaints and supplying support and feedback to the Sales team in this regard.
  • Providing weekly feedback to the Technical Manager.
  • Co-ordinating and providing product training.
  • Presenting and assisting at farmers' days and agricultural expos.
  • Writing articles for newsletters, magazines and marketing materials.
  • Conducting farmers' visits with the Sales Representatives and Agents.
  • Planting and evaluating commercial trials.
  • Providing technical support to Sales team, Product Development team as well as Field Officers and farmers.
