You will assist senior draughtsmen and engineers in developing accurate 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and layouts for a variety of mechanical equipment and fabricated components.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in creating and updating detailed 3D models and technical drawings for mechanical equipment and fabricated components. Support the preparation of machining, assembly, and fabrication drawings for industrial fans, vessels, and related parts. Help generate material take-off lists (MTOs) and ensure bill of materials accuracy. Work with Inventor and AutoCAD to develop and revise engineering designs. Apply guidance from senior engineers and draughtsmen to refine design concepts and ensure technical accuracy. Maintain organised drawing libraries and revision records in line with company standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure correct design integration. Adhere to internal and industry drawing and documentation standards. Qualifications, Skills, and ExperienceN4N6 or Diploma in Mechanical Draughting (or equivalent).0 - 2 years experience in a draughting role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment (graduates with strong technical aptitude may be considered). Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD. Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and fabrication methods. Exposure to or familiarity with industry design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) advantageous. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and willingness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills. Self-motivated, with the ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
