About the Role
Our client is seeking a competent and empathetic Claims Handler specializing in Motor Vehicle insurance to join their remote team. You will manage the end-to-end claims process for vehicle accidents, ensuring fair and timely settlements for policyholders. This role requires strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, repairers, and other relevant parties. Working remotely from your base in or near Mossel Bay, you will contribute to delivering excellent claims service across the Western Cape.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log new motor vehicle insurance claims accurately.
- Assess claim validity based on policy coverage and incident details.
- Appoint and liaise with assessors, repairers, and legal teams as needed.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and third parties.
- Ensure timely payment of approved claims.
- Maintain accurate records and update claim files promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Claims Handler, specifically in motor vehicle insurance.
- Good understanding of vehicle repair processes and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
