Hiring: Pump Fitter (Centurion)

Job Overview:

Our client, a leading company specializing in pump solutions, is looking for a qualified Pump Fitter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Fitter certification and experience in the maintenance, installation, and repair of slurry pumps and related equipment. This role involves both workshop and on-site duties, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Pump Installation & Repair: Install, maintain, and repair slurry pumps, including components such as motors, seals, and bearings.

Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct tests on pumps and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure functionality.

Component Replacement & Assembly: Replace seals, bearings, and other components, and assemble pumps to specifications.

Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets industry quality standards and safety regulations.

On-Site & Workshop Support: Provide assistance with on-site installations and maintenance, as well as in the workshop.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and tests performed.

Safety & Housekeeping: Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Communication: Report progress and challenges to management in a timely manner.

Compliance: Ensure all required licenses and permits are current.

Requirements:

Mechanical Fitter

Red Seal Fitter certification (compulsory – no exceptions).

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

At least 2 years of experience as a fitter, particularly with slurry pumps.

Strong attention to detail and a focus on safety.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to travel to customer sites and work overtime when necessary.
