An opportunity for an experienced QA / QC INSPECTOR (ELECTRICAL) is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect incoming parts and repaired / reworked components according to the order requirements
- Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity confirm to the order with regard to material specifications
- Assist fitters and personnel with component measurements during assembly when required
- Follow all intervention points as marked up on motor assembly QCPs routings with regards to hold, verification, witness and review points
- Visual inspection of complete AC / DC motors and signing off final release / final quality control checklist
- Marking of order number and material on components where required, also ensure trackability on any material movement within or out of the company
- Filing of all drawings, material certificates etc on the system
- Report problems or concerns to responsible Supervisor / Manager immediately
- Carry out NCR on items or issues timeously and process timeously
- Carry out accurate quality control reporting on motors / items when required
- Maintain measuring equipment and ensure items are calibrated at all times and report any issues
- Carry out NDT testing and required reporting under his/ her skill levels of NDT testing
- Maintain high level of quality and standards at all times
- Comply with and enforce all Policies and Procedures
- Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
- Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
- Write/contribute to Audits, investigation reports, fill out quality documentation
- Complete reporting requirements accordingly
- Review and sign off quality packs and documentation
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Qualified / Trade Tested, Mechanical/Electrical Fitter / Fitter & Turner
- 5 Years experience in QA/QC
- Supervisory experience (advantage)
- Engineering / Workshop background required
- Certification in quality control is preferred.
- Some exposure with mechanical systems, such as AC / DC motors, will be beneficial.
- Computer Literacy
- Knowledge of Quality Control standards and testing / inspection methodologies
- Non-destructive testing experience is advantageous
- Able to read and interpret technical literature and drawings
- Attention to detail
- Willing attitude to learn and take advice
- Assembly of electrical motors and knowledge would be an advantage
- Newcastle residency required
