An opportunity for an experienced QA / QC INSPECTOR (ELECTRICAL) is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect incoming parts and repaired / reworked components according to the order requirements
• Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity confirm to the order with regard to material specifications
• Assist fitters and personnel with component measurements during assembly when required
• Follow all intervention points as marked up on motor assembly QCPs routings with regards to hold, verification, witness and review points
• Visual inspection of complete AC / DC motors and signing off final release / final quality control checklist
• Marking of order number and material on components where required, also ensure trackability on any material movement within or out of the company
• Filing of all drawings, material certificates etc on the system
• Report problems or concerns to responsible Supervisor / Manager immediately
• Carry out NCR on items or issues timeously and process timeously
• Carry out accurate quality control reporting on motors / items when required
• Maintain measuring equipment and ensure items are calibrated at all times and report any issues
• Carry out NDT testing and required reporting under his/ her skill levels of NDT testing
• Maintain high level of quality and standards at all times
• Comply with and enforce all Policies and Procedures
• Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
• Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
• Write/contribute to Audits, investigation reports, fill out quality documentation
• Complete reporting requirements accordingly
• Review and sign off quality packs and documentation

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Qualified / Trade Tested, Mechanical/Electrical Fitter / Fitter & Turner
• 5 Years experience in QA/QC
• Supervisory experience (advantage)
• Engineering / Workshop background required
• Certification in quality control is preferred.
• Some exposure with mechanical systems, such as AC / DC motors, will be beneficial.
• Computer Literacy
• Knowledge of Quality Control standards and testing / inspection methodologies
• Non-destructive testing experience is advantageous
• Able to read and interpret technical literature and drawings
• Attention to detail
• Willing attitude to learn and take advice
• Assembly of electrical motors and knowledge would be an advantage
• Newcastle residency required
