The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 is essential
  • Trade Certificate in Packaging Manufacturing Machine Minder is essential.
  • Minimum Supervisor course NQF 4
  • Proficient in Office Suite Products
  • Proven track record in a leadership position of 10 years with managing a minimum of 50 employees
  • Written Safe Working Procedures - pass mark must be achieved.
  • A valid certificate for Accident & Incident investigation.
  • Emergency Evacuation Coordinator Training
  • Previous experience in corrugated production management beneficial

Job requirements:

  • Able to manage and lead a team; be innovative and a problem solver; excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task effectively and be deadline-driven;
  • Must have good planning and organizing skills.
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Ability to deal with increasing complexity in processes and practices to achieve new opportunities and greater production output
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and long hours when needed
  • Maintain production standards within the prescribed targets.
  • Maintain minimum waste percentages in production
  • Able to identify training and development needs
  • Shift working essential

Your key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Control Manpower
  • Maintain production standards within the prescribed targets with minimum waste percentages in production
  • Identify training and development needs
  • Housekeeping standards are kept at high standard
  • Maintain customer delivery deadlines
  • Maintain proper communication and interaction with departments feeding converting and servicing departments after the converting process.
  • Maintain Health & Safety standards at all times
  • Maintain administrative functions at all times
  • Institute disciplinary actions where required
  • Attend relevant meetings representing the converting department
