The Fitters department requires a committed, hardworking and reliable Painter/Handyman to join their team. The Painter/Handyman will be responsible for the following tasks, amongst others:Maintaining building structures and upkeep of the aesthetics thereofMeasuring, cutting and disassembling or assembling various componentsVarious maintenance and new installations on buildings, workshops and office spacesRepairing, maintaining and renovating different structures, tools, equipment and appliances throughout the workplacePaint work for various projects, office space, workshops, parking bays and demarcation areasPrepare and erect timber framed partitions, Prepare and fit wall panellingPerform tasks using rough sketches and dimensionsRepair equipment or appliances where possiblePerform regular inspections in order to identify areas requiring attentionAdherence to Health and Safety regulationsDemonstrate appropriate knowledge of workshop safetyAssisting the Fitters department with various Adhoc dutiesAssisting various maintenance teams and Artisans with Adhoc tasks as and when requiredQualifying Criteria: Grade 12Valid Code 8 driver’s licenseBasic knowledge of Health and Safety rulesAbility to handle tools i.e. cutting machinesPrevious experience in the same or similar role advantageousAdhere to Health and Safety rules and regulationsQualifying AttributesHard-working and self-motivatedPrepared to work overtime and weekends when requiredPhysically fit (Strength to handle materials, tools and machines)Sober habitsAble to work in a team as well as independentlyHonest and reliableMust be willing and eager to learnAbility to multi-task and manage a demanding workload in a pressurised environmentPhysically mobile and energeticAbility to follow rulesBe organised and keep their work area neat and tidy Other Information: Job title: Painter/HandymanJob type: Permanent positionBenefits include· Provident fund· Life cover at 4x annual salary· Funeral cover· 15 x paid leave days per annum· Long service leave after five years of employmentStandard hours07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday07h30–16h00: FridayMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirementsWe regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
