Minimum requirements: - Matric
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is advantageous
- Proven experience as a Legal Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting/bookkeeping role, ideally in a law firm
- Knowledge of legal accounting principles, including trust accounting and client funds management
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for client accounts, including trust and general ledgers
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and invoicing
- Reconcile bank and trust accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with legal accounting regulations, including the handling of client funds
- Collaborate with attorneys and other staff to track expenses and assist with budgeting
- Perform other bookkeeping duties as required in a legal environment
